Research
Dr. Deere received her PhD in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Minnesota and an MPH in Environmental Health from Emory University. She has extensive experience in disease ecology, ecotoxicology, conservation biology, and public health, focusing on the links between ecosystem health, wildlife disease, and human well-being. Her work includes conducting spatial, social, and statistical analyses of pathogen risk in wild primates, coordinating interdisciplinary One Health initiatives in East Africa, and mentoring students in field and laboratory research. She brings expertise in integrating environmental, toxicological, and health data to inform conservation and public health strategies.
