My research investigates governance and policy responses to global environmental change in the Global South, with particular emphasis on small island developing states (SIDS). I examine how multilateral institutions, their scientific assessments, and systems of measurement impact climate adaptation, finance, and responses to climate-related losses and damages. Across this work, I am interested in how these institutions define vulnerability, govern access to resources, and produce more or less equitable outcomes.

I currently serve as a Coordinating Lead Author for Chapter 5 (Responses to losses and damages) in Working Group II contribution to the Seventh Assessment Report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.
