Bio

My research journey has followed an evolving path—from plants in Costa Rica to fishes, herpetofauna, and ultimately mammals—driven by curiosity, adaptability, and a passion for uncovering ecological insights. Through my Master’s and PhD work on eastern fox squirrels and southeastern pocket gophers, I’ve contributed novel findings like UV fluorescence and innovative trap designs, while embracing both expected and surprising outcomes. I’m deeply committed to collaborative, interdisciplinary research that explores ecosystem dynamics, fire ecology, and climate impacts, and I’m equally passionate about mentoring the next generation of scientists.
