Fall 2024 Seminar Series
This fall, we invite you to join our seminar series, “Environmental Science and Society: Systems Approaches to Addressing 'Wicked' Environmental Problems of the 21st Century.”
The seminar will focus on the interconnected and often complex impacts of climate change and related efforts to adapt and mitigate them on issues like food production, water scarcity and flooding, human health, urban systems and biodiversity conservation. Each seminar will feature a speaker sharing their research and insights on these critical topics. After each talk, participants will break into small discussion groups to delve deeper into the issues presented, develop thoughtful questions for the speaker, and actively engage in stimulating discussions. This seminar is a unique opportunity to explore the challenges of sustainable development and resilience from a systems perspective and to collaborate with peers across the university.
ENVS Seminar Series
In the fall or spring semester, the Department of Environmental Sciences hosts a seminar series as part of the ENVS senior seminar course, ENVS 390. The seminar series draws speakers from across Emory faculty and the broader community.
